Disney+ 'SpeedRamp' concept (used globally!)
The production company Once Upon a Time tasked me with trying to find a footage mechanic using the '+' icon on Disney + idents and utilise that with a gradually accelerating footage montage. Keyframing that composition in After Effects would have been a nightmare, especially if I was asked at a later stage, " Can you slow it down a bit?..."; as that would have been a re-build. What I did in the end was make 30 separate footage compositions with '+' transitions (Video copilot 'Sabre' for the + glows) and then used ReVision's 'Twixtor' to time remap the whole sequence. Twixtor allowed me to ease-out into the sequence, come to a pause, then reverse back, speeding-up as I go until I transition-out to the endboard. This style ended-up being used extensively by Disney + so i'm dead-chuffed about that.
